Terms of Use
Draft — last updated October 2026
1. What Tooli is
Tooli is an online directory and messaging platform that helps people find independent tradespeople and businesses (“Members”). Tooli does not carry out, supervise or guarantee any work. Any agreement for work is between the customer and the Member.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate information and keep your login secure.
- You're responsible for everything done through your account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
3. Members (tradies and companies)
- You must hold a valid ABN and any licence, registration and insurance the law requires for the work you advertise, and keep them current.
- We check ABN and licence details before listing you, but you remain responsible for being properly licensed and insured.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. There is no lock-in contract and no early termination fee: cancel any time from Billing, and access continues to the end of the paid period. Tradie free trials convert to a paid plan unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Job board contact details may only be used to respond to that job — never for marketing or resale.
4. Customers and job posts
- When you post a job, we text you a code to confirm your mobile. Your job details are shown to Tooli tradie members, and your contact details to up to 5 of them who choose to contact you about it.
- Check licences, insurance, quotes and references before hiring anyone.
5. Reviews
- Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience with that Member.
- No fake reviews, reviews of yourself or competitors, or reviews in exchange for payment or discounts.
- We remove reviews that are abusive, fake or break these terms. We don't remove reviews just because they're negative.
5a. Company ads
- Company Listing members can show ads on Tooli. Ads are marked “Sponsored” and checked by Tooli before they appear.
- Ads must be truthful, lawful and not misleading, and must comply with the Australian Consumer Law and any advertising rules for your industry.
- We may reject, pause or remove any ad, and the views and clicks we report are estimates.
6. Acceptable use
Don't post anything illegal, misleading, abusive or discriminatory; don't spam or scrape the site; and don't try to get around our checks or payments.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, Tooli is not liable for the work, conduct, quotes or availability of Members or customers, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll tell Members about material changes by email at least 14 days before they apply.
